Deities, witches, wizards, fae, and more. I am not kidding, more! In the first four chapters you see reference to: Deities, witches, wizards, fae, giantess, ogres, drakes, shifters, cyclops, fauns, clairvoyants, kraken, nymphs, harpies, Valkyries, and familiars! You also hear the terms polyamorous and polycule. OH MY!
Let me start by saying why I am giving it only three stars. It is very busy and jumps around with multiple storylines at the same time. Yet this alone would have been fine if there were not also pronoun errors, name errors and grammatically incorrect sentences. I am all for using a variety of pronouns yet please keep them straight. Also, every time there was a name error or grammar error my mind would STOP. I would have to reread the sentence and go back a few times to solve it before I could relax and go on in the story. So for me this made it less enjoyable.
However, this had A LOT of good in it as well!
The storylines while being many were all enjoyable and the author did tie them all up at the end. The Main Female Character (MFC) shared the spotlight other strong female characters and there were multiple Main Male Characters (MMC) as well. The romance, family and friend aspects were wonderful and you get to really know all of them and the way they tie together. Additionally, the author did a great job with the imagery for the town and the Villa which helped enhance the readers experience. I also loved the spice thrown in throughout the story yet at times that did feel a bit off. As if the author felt they HAD to include more spice for some reason.
Anyway, this is a delightful book which introduces mates and polyamory as well as magic and other beings. It is a fun read and while it was difficult for me you might find it way more enjoyable!
I voluntarily read this ARC and received it from the author.
