I thoroughly enjoyed this book and willingly give it 5 stars, or in this case 5 hockey players!

I absolutely LOVED that the Main Female Character (MFC) was older and as I like to say ‘fluffy’. Hilary was independent, strong mentally, and successful in her job. Yes she has some family issues and does let them affect her relationship with Murphy. Yet this in now way detracts from her strength. We see her grow as she comes to accept love and realize that she does deserve it. That what she had growing up is not what she is doomed to have for life.

The Male Main Character Murphy was younger, athletic, and RIPPED. He is sweet, generous, independent, and caring. He comes from a strong family background and he functions from those ideals. He does face doubt in the relationship as Hilary is like no one he has fallen for before. Yet his dogged persistence gave the story hope.

I also have to say that I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED that Finn was added to the story. I know myself how having an animal family member can help with your anxiety and emotional well-being. This was truly a wonderful touch to the story.

This reverse age gap was refreshing. So many books have the man older and no one blinks an eye. In this book the author addresses the stigma and concerns over having the female as the older one. Honestly, as long as both are adults over the age of 21 then what does it matter who is older? We all deserve to find our soul mate.

I received a free copy of this book as an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
