As the author said “Would you leave Earth forever?” I know I have been intrigued with space and other planets and beings forever. Do they exist? What is out there?

In Stella Nova this is the overlying question that must be faced by the Main Female Character Danika Metzner. Danika is tall, willowy, and gorgeous. She is a track star and a High School Senior. She has a best friend, Jo, that she has had for a very long time, a loving mother, and an awesome younger sister. Sounds perfect, yes? Well.. she also has anxiety and ADHD which can wreck havoc to her life. Her anxiety also makes it hard to pass tests. So what she does not have are grades good enough to graduate in History.

Now Danika IS smart in all her other subjects. It’s just that to her History is boring. I mean we all get that, yes? NONE of us loved, or love, all of our school subjects! So what is a dedicated athlete to do when one wants to go to college with a scholarship? Get a tutor!

Her History teacher, Dr. Jorda Tonin, sets her up with a peer tutor in the form of Gabriel Zyze. Slate grey eyes, dimples on each cheek when he smiles, a body to die for. He is smart, respectful, gorgeous, and he talks like a Victorian actor! Can Danika focus long enough to actually raise her grade?

I love, love, love this book! It takes us on Danika’s struggle to raise her History grade all while setting us up to leave Earth. WAIT! Leave Earth? Why this again?? But….

NO SPOILERS HERE! Yet what I will say is that the author does an excellent job with the plot, the flow of the story, and the characters. Now I give it 4 stars as some of the events were predictable. Yet there were moments I yelled aloud ‘WHAT??’ or ‘Noooooooo!!!!!’ This book did take me on a rollercoaster of emotions as I read and I laughed, cried, and cringed.

So, back to that ultimate question- “Would you leave Earth forever?” In this amazing book Danika has her answer almost forced on her. For me? Well if I was still years younger a definite YES! Now? Only if Charlie and my cats could go with me, haha!
