What a better way to start my Holiday season than with a workplace romance at its best? I am one of those people who say that November 1st is the start of the Holiday Season! It is NEVER too early for holiday music, holiday baking, decorations, romantic holiday movies, and more. One must start early if one wants to wear all the holiday clothes and glasses toppers they have! (Or is that just me? Haha!) And yes Turkey day is yummy. Yet as a teacher I feel it does not hold a candle to the holiday season! This book reminded me of all the Secret Santa events I have done, and led, in the past and it made me a bit nostalgic that this will be my first holiday season retired. Yet, Silver Lining? More time to read MORE BOOKS like this one! This book was a Hallmark movie with more spice!!

Cassie Morgan is the epitome of the Holiday season. Perhaps she is a holiday elf in disguise? She LOVES Christmas, baking, family, friends, and holiday traditions. She dresses in holiday wear with no care to what people think and she even categorizes people based on their Christmas spirit. Yet she is no Scrooge and loves even those who hate Christmas as there is always the chance she can change their minds, right?

Alex Connors is a man of few words. He knows what he likes and does not waste time on that which he doesn’t. He is in a job that was meant to be just a step towards a better future yet he stays because of the woman who drives him batty a few desks down. She makes verbal barrages fun and he lives to rile her up. However, Christmas? Ugh he says. You want it? Fine. Just don’t expect him to participate. Unless the boss heavily implies that it is expected. So what is a quiet, simple man to do? Sign up for the new holiday pen pal app and hope it won’t take too much time.

You see, both Cassie and Alex are at pivotal moments in their lives and little do they realize that they are entwined in some very unexpected ways. They each need to make life changing decisions and each has hopes it might change more than just a work place setting.

READ THIS BOOK and get into the Holiday spirit. As I read this book I laughed out loud and sighed often. I started humming Christmas music in my mind and thinking about yummy goodies to make. It truly was like reading a Hallmark movie with the added bonus of some very nice SPICE! The plot is excellently paced and for a novella it does not cut corners with the details. This novella will become a new holiday tradition for me every year.
